Grace Patterson
Second Grade Teacher

Grace Patterson is pleased to join the St. Philip’s Academy faculty as a Second Grade
teacher, embracing the high calling of cultivating young minds and hearts. Having
herself received a Grammar School education in Northern Ireland, she developed an
early appreciation for the richness and order of a classical approach to learning. She
went on to earn her bachelor’s degree from the College of Charleston and has pursued
further study through two master’s-level degrees in education, reflecting her conviction
that learning is a lifelong pursuit.

Mrs. Patterson is devoted to fostering a classroom atmosphere marked by warmth,
order, and joy, where students are encouraged to grow in confidence and delight in their
studies. She values the strong academic foundations of a classical Christian education
and seeks to guide her students toward a deeper love of truth, goodness, and beauty,
all grounded in the light of Scripture. With intentional care, she nurtures both intellectual
curiosity and spiritual formation, helping her students to see all knowledge as rightly
ordered under Christ.

Grace and her husband, Chase, are active members of St. Philip’s Church and are
grateful to be part of the St. Philip’s Academy community both within and beyond the
classroom. In their leisure, they enjoy time at Folly Beach and fellowship around the
table with family and friends.
