Bill Drury
Board Member

Bill has a wide range of experience in business and school leadership.  As an entrepreneur, he founded and led two successful multi-national manufacturing companies and was later named President of an industrial automation company before joining its board of directors.  He has served on multiple corporate boards and investment executive committees.  He was active for many years on the Board of Trustees of the Christian K12 school that his four children attended, including stints as Finance Committee Chair, Treasurer, and (interim) CFO.  He has his BS, MS, and PhD in engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology (Go Jackets!).

 

Bill has seen first-hand that Christian education can have a lasting positive impact on the character and faith of students and the lives of their families.  Combining this with the pursuit of virtue, wisdom and critical thinking through the great works of Western Civilization results in a profound preparation for young people getting ready to enter adulthood.  Bill firmly believes this is a unique benefit that St. Philip’s Academy offers to its students and to the Charleston community as a whole. 

 

Bill’s personal interests have included scuba diving, sailing and overseeing the family’s horse farm.  Bill and his wife Cheryl live in Charleston and are members of St. Philip’s Anglican Church.
