
Ann Hester Willis
Board Member
Ann has been married to Fred Willis for more than 30 years. She and Fred have four teenaged granddaughters. Ann received a B.A. from Trinity College (Hartford, CT) in History and English. She received a J.D. from Emory University School of Law. Ann is a member of the South Carolina and Georgia Bars. She practiced law in private practice for 17 years and then co-owned with Fred and was counsel of a company that owned and managed commercial real estate for 22 years.
Ann and Fred have been members of St. Michael’s Church and then St. Philip’s Church since 1999, and Ann has served in leadership positions at both churches. At St. Michael’s and St. Philip’s Ann has served on the Vestry and as Junior Warden and Senior Warden. Ann served on the Standing Committee of the Diocese of South Carolina and was Secretary for two of those years. She also was a Board member and officer of the Anglican Leadership Institute for ten years.
Ann pursued a liberal arts education because of her belief that the goal of education should be to develop well-rounded individuals with skills in analysis and reasoning. The Classical Christian education seeks to go beyond that by additionally focusing on developing character and virtue which Ann believes is important for the future of society.
